COMMENT

 

As a result of Iroquois Confederacy attacks between 1616 and 1639, the Chonnonton, Wenrohronon, Southern Bear Huron tribes fled to the safety of the Tionnontate's homeland. There, they merged to become a blended tribe called the Wyandotte. Then in 1650, as a result of a major attack directly on the Tionnontate's homeland itself, the Wyandotte scattered. Many, however, were captured and went to live amongst the Seneca.
