As a result of Iroquois Confederacy
attacks between 1616 and 1639, the Chonnonton, Wenrohronon, Southern
Bear Huron tribes fled to the safety of the Tionnontate's homeland.
There, they merged to become a blended tribe called the Wyandotte.
Then in 1650, as a result of a major attack directly on the Tionnontate's
homeland itself, the Wyandotte scattered. Many, however, were
captured and went to live amongst the Seneca.
